Fluconazole capsules, suspension and infusion all contain the active ingredient fluconazole, which is a type of medicine called a triazole antifungal. (NB. Fluconazole kills the fungi that are causing an infection by interfering with their cell membranes. It can be taken by mouth or may be administered via a drip into a vein (intravenous infusion) depending on the type and severity of the infection.
